Code of Conduct

Krav Maga Mayhem students, visitors and instructors are kindly expected to abide by the below rules at all Krav Maga Mayhem classes and events:

  • Please keep good timekeeping for the classes, and arrive well on time.  If you are late, please make sure the instructor has cleared you to start training - depending on level of lateness, this might mean conducting your own warm up!

  • Please wear your Krav Maga Mayhem club t-shirt when training, and clothes that are suitable for training such as shorts, tracksuit/jogging bottoms, yoga pants, etc.

  • Please also wear suitable footwear such as trainers and pumps.  No boots or work shoes - you forget your trainers, you train with bare feet!

  • Please remove necklaces, rings, watches and other jewelry prior to entering the training floor.

  • We strongly recommend removing all piercings for wrestling and other close contact training, where possible.  If this is something you're unable to do, train around it.

  • All student equipment and items must be kept safely at the sides of the training area - including food and drink!

  • Please make sure you keep your phone on silent, unless agreed with your instructor (i.e. in an emergency).

  • Please do not talk over your instructor during teaching and demonstrations - not only is it disruptive, but it may cause you to miss details critical to both the technique and safe training.

  • Try to keep chatter to a minimum - we love the friendly vibe we have, but don't let training become talking!

  • Students are expected to calibrate their level of resistance, force, and aggression appropriately to their training partner and the current drill. If in doubt, ask your partner or instructor what they expect!

  • Train smart and train safe - but train like an idiot and we will give you a formal warning, and potentially remove you from the club - remember that we don't train with tools or allow them on the training floor.

  • Please inform your instructor in the event of any accident or injury immediately!

  • Students are welcome to ask questions and give each other feedback (especially to help their partner calibrate correctly); however, only Mayhem instructors or designated assistants may provide instruction. Please limit peer coaching to exercises where it is explicitly requested - and if unsure, please ask!

  • No person may participate in training while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and guilty parties will be removed from class and may very well also lose future training privileges.

  • If you are sick, with a cold or anything else contagious, do not come to train! You might feel well enough - bravo - but we're all here to train, not get sick.  If you present symptoms, you will be sent home anyway!

  • Please ensure that you arrive with an acceptable level of personal hygiene too - including wearing clean training clothes, that your training kit is clean and doesn't smell, that you've showered recently, with brushed teeth, and so on.  You might be surprised that we need to mention this...

  • Also on that note, make sure that your fingernails are trimmed and tidy too!

  • Please ensure that your hands are washed before training, and after you visit the toilet.  Again, you might be surpised!

  • Please let your instructor know if you need to leave the training room - in case of fire for example, it's good to know if you went to the toilet!

  • Please act respectfully to your fellow students and your instructors, as well as visitors.

  • Anyone who engages in bullying, discriminatory or harassing behaviour will be removed from class and may very well also lose future training privileges. This includes - but is not limited to - discrimination based on race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnic or religious background, and ability; as well as verbal, physical, and sexual harassment.

  • This extends to outside the training room as well!

  • Regarding the above, in some cases you will receive a formal written warning for 'first offences', in others we will expel you immediately.  In cases where a formal warning has been received already, any further offences will result in immediate expulsion.

  • Krav Maga Mayhem is a safe and welcoming club for everyone, and all instructors, students and visitors are expected to abide by the above rules - if this or the above will be a problem for you, don't bother joining, we don't want you training with us.

  • Remember that you represent Krav Maga Mayhem - so please act responsibly and with integrity at all times.

  • If you see something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please speak to your instructor immediately.

  • If you have any questions or queries, or require any assistance, you know the drill, please email hq@kravmayhem.com - and we will be delighted to help you!

Keeping Safe During Coronavirus

Keeping you safe while you train will be our top priority, so please read our guidlines below on how to train around coronavirus.

  • If you are experiencing any symptoms related to coronavirus, or live with someone who is, please do not come and train with us and dial 111 for advice.

  • The most common symptoms of coronavirus are: recent onset of a new continuous cough, a high temperature and/or a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell.

  • If you have these symptoms, however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for at least 7 days from when your symptoms started (if you live alone), or 14 days (if you live with someone who has symptoms).

  • Please keep within current social distancing distance from each other at all times.

  • Please ensure that you are training according to KMG Covid-secure guidelines, as instructed, at all times.

  • Failing to do this will result in loss of training privileges.

  • Absolutely no sharing of any personal training equipment, towels or drinks.

  • Please ensure that if you wear any training equipment, where relevant, it's sanitised before and after use.

  • Please ensure, therefore, you have your own hand sanitiser.
